PRESENTING ON CAMERA

More and more companies are choosing to make their own videos in house, so they can deliver regular updates to their clients and employees on their websites, newsletters and social media. It's a great communication tool, but it's not straightforward if you're not used to being on camera. How do you connect with your audience and look natural?

Alastair has appeared on camera for over 25 years, so he will be able to share insightful tips on how to get your message across on camera. This is how a Present Yourself course can help you and your business:

Scripting - Writing a powerful and memorable message is critical, but a script is very different to writing copy so we'll help you prepare content that's effective and natural.

Delivery - We'll help you choose a style of delivery that you're comfortable with. Whether it's straight to camera, an off camera interview or a professional presenter led interview, we'll help you look and feel more confident.

Teleprompter Training - Learning scripts can be a challenge, so an easier way may be to consider using a teleprompter. We'll guide you on the techniques the professionals use to look natural while they're reading a script. We can also recommend equipment and software, or try ours and see how you get on.

Production - We can recommend production companies to suit your needs and budget. If you're looking to make the videos yourself, we can help guide you with equipment choices. Setting the scene is vital so we'll help you select the right backdrop and we can give advice about editing, graphics and cutaways.

Get in touch and let us create a bespoke training package that'll suit your all requirements, and get you and your company looking great on camera.

INTERVIEW TRAINING

Many of us are asked for an interview by the press. If you aren’t prepared to meet journalists from the newspapers, radio, or TV, then this can be a very daunting prospect.

Alastair has interviewed over 500 people in person, on TV and Radio, and having been interviewed himself on numerous occasions, he brings this experience to these bespoke courses.

On the Present Yourself course, you’ll learn how to prepare, how to get your message across, and how to be memorable …. for the right reasons!

There are two main types of interview you may be asked to give:

Reactive Interview – This is where you are responding to specific event or incident. This may be a more combative interview and preparation is particularly important so that you answer the questions but also get your message across in the way you want to.

Proactive Interview – This is where you are promoting yourself, your company or an event. This is a great opportunity to talk about your specialised area of knowledge, but you need to make sure the audience hear your key message.

You’ll also learn:

  • How to get your message across in a short or long interview

  • How to get on with the interviewer.

  • What to wear and how to present yourself with the appropriate body language at the interview.

  • The ABC’s of tricky interviews – Acknowledge, Bridge and Communicate.

On this course, you’ll learn how to deal with the differences between print, TV and Radio interviews and how to come across effectively in each.

This course is invaluable for anyone who may have to give an interview. Click here to get in touch and let us know how we can help you.
